Case study: Nicki John – Right Hand Woman
Business has blossomed for Empowering Smart Women participant Nicki John after her confidence grew during the programme.

Nicki, of Right Hand Woman, an increasingly successful personal concierge business, who took part in the ESF Convergence funded project’s Level 3 management course, described her outward persona before the experience as “an extrovert brimming with confidence” yet in reality “having a totally soft centre and lacking self-belief”.
It is her unstinting support for the programme however that brought her to the attention of ESW project co-ordinator Heather Forster and in turn led to her being nominated for the overall project champion award. Heather said: “From the start Nicki has embraced and supported Empowering Smart Women, encouraged fellow participants and promoted the programme to others whom she thought might benefit. She has even gone on live radio of her own volition to promote the project, and has publicised it through networking channels and in the press.”
Nicki has done this while establishing her new business and looking after a young family, while also ensuring her assignments were in on time, attending all sessions and various related events, and even giving the project team a boost when needed.
Heather added: “Nicki truly embraced all the opportunities open to her and is continuing to develop both herself and her business. She is the one participant who has truly championed ESW in every sense of the word.”
