Convergence Partnership Office - ERDF (Cornwall Council)

The role of the Convergence Partnership Office is to undertake communications and public relations for the ERDF and ESF Convergence Programmes to a wide range of audiences, to provide links between and within the Programmes.

The Convergence Partnership Office aims to conduct a long-term narrative to tell the story of the Programmes - the what, the why, and the impact - this is within the Partnership, with the general public via the media, direct contact with the team, and in ‘nurturing' business sector understanding of the possibilities of the Programmes. A key part of this is helping knit together the ambitions of individual stakeholders into a common purpose for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

These communication activities will include information flows within the Convergence Partnership and to the wider public of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (particularly via the media), the South West and further afield including the European Union.

It also provides feedback on Programme developments and identifies opportunities for the exchange of best practice.

Cross cutting themes

Communication of the cross-cutting themes is a core part of the Partnership Office’s role.  It highlights good practice and champions environmental sustainability, the environment as an economic driver and a low carbon economy in communication of the Convergence Programmes.  Where appropriate the Partnership Office will use sustainable design.

Good practice in equality and diversity is also highlighted in communication activity and championed across the Programmes by the Partnership Office.

The Convergence website has been designed to be accessible to the widest possible audience and was identified as one of the editor’s picks by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) website - www.w3csites.com - as successfully combining design and accessibility.  The site is regularly validated against the W3C checks to ensure a high standard of accessibility is maintained.
