Cornish Crabbers at Sea
This investment will safeguard the 10 existing jobs at Cornish Crabbers and employment is forecast to grow to 32 by 2013.
Convergence assistance is being provided through the Grant for Business Investment Strategic Investment Framework which has been established to support the expansion, modernisation and diversification of businesses, typically through acquisition of key assets such as buildings, plant and machinery – creating jobs, raising business productivity and raising skills levels.
“The journey of this company from ‘rock bottom’ to the swelling tides of a successful business is an exemplar to many businesses facing challenging and unpredictable economic climes. There is no single secret of success. A combination of intelligent investment at the right points that made sense to their business plan and supported their management and technical expertise has incrementally accelerated their success.”Carleen Kelemen, Director of the Convergence Partnership Office for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly
