Developing Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Programme (Cornwall College)

The aim of this investment is to train teachers, lecturers and trainers to enable them to teach enterprise and entrepreneurship skills more effectively in all settings, including schools, colleges, the community and work place.

The project will also focus on a number of specific groups to help raise entrepreneurship and enterprise skills, including undergraduates, graduates, women, older workers, social entrepreneurs and under-employed individuals/those about to enter the workforce.

This will be achieved through collaborative activities between the Combined Universities in Cornwall partners, schools, colleges, work-based learning providers, businesses and voluntary and community sector organisations.

This programme brings several Combined Universities in Cornwall partners who represent different educational settings, programmes, curricula and learner interests. This ensures that the Programme draws upon the diversity of these interests for the benefit of all participants. Comprehensive procedures and policies will be implemented to ensure that the principles of gender equality and equality of opportunity for all are positively applied. The programme will adopt a comprehensive Equal Opportunities Policy (EOP) based on the Cornwall Group EOP. The EPM and Project Management Group will be responsible for setting appropriate actions to address any issues identified throughout the Programme of activities. In addition they will set baselines and monitor progression towards targets, chair quarterly review meetings, prepare Equal Opportunities reports and ensure that staff receive Equal Opportunities training.

Best practice in sustainable development will be embedded within the programme through: appropriate curricula, delivery models and partner policy/processes and shared openly across the partnership through the Project Management Group. As lead organisation, Cornwall College will pass on good practice to Programme partners. The application details how it will support the three Convergence ESF Framework Sustainable Development Priorities.
