Finding a Digital Infrastructure Investor for Cornwall (Cornwall Council)

This investment covers the development phase of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly′s Digital Infrastructure programme.

Convergence funds will be used to gap fund an investment by the private sector to provide a Next Generation Broadband infrastructure and end user applications. The Digital Cornwall team will:

  • Present to the Convergence Partnership Delivery Board (PDB) an analysis of the options available for improving broadband infrastructure in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
  • Identify a private sector partner or partners through a competitive tendering process.
  • Begin discussions and work to meet European Union requirements for a large investment of this type
  • Prepare for Regional Development Agency match funding application and HM Treasury approval.
