Freestyle Plus (Learning Partnership for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly)

This project will further develop and embed a learner-led personalised approach, building on activity and success from Phase 1 projects for ‘at risk’ young people or those who are not in employment, education or training (NEET). The project aims to deliver a carefully measured intervention activity framework, designed around the target groups that will progress the young people from initial disengagement into employment, further learning or voluntary work.  Personalised learning programmes will be designed and delivered to re-motivate and re-engage young people.

Freestyle Plus’ five key themes are:

  • Targeted support to those NEET or at risk of becoming NEET
  • Apprenticeships and increased access to apprenticeships
  • Vocational skills and curriculum development
  • Enterprise and entrepreneurial skills
  • Capacity building

Activity/outcomes include:

  • Level 1, 2, accredited and non-accredited achievements
  • Progression into job search, further learning, volunteering or employment
  • Young people remaining in learning
