Globalisation (Serco Regional Services Ltd)
The Globalisation Project aims to support a step change in the international performance of companies in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and in parallel, attract international investment to support the area′s economic development.
The target of the three-year project, which will be run by Peninsula Enterprise, is to support 193 businesses with high growth potential in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to trade internationally. It will also be targetted at encouraging foreign business investment in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The project will receive £1,545,652 from the ERDF Convergence Programme with the remaining match funding coming from United Kingdom Trade and Investment (UKTI) which works with UK-based businesses to ensure their success in international markets.
Support for businesses will be offered in the form of:
- Business Development Vouchers - up to £7,500 a year.
- Support and aftercare for businesses involved in networks and clusters, with particular focus on renewable energy and environmental technologies.
- Support for businesses to form joint ventures, partnerships and alliances to import and export good practice from national and international experience.
- Offering a strategic overseas marketing and communications plan.
