Knowledge Escalator South West (University of Gloucestershire)

Knowledge Escalator South West stimulates business growth and new enterprise by facilitating the exchange of information between Higher Education institutions and businesses.  It brings together the expertise of University College Falmouth, the University of Exeter and the University of Plymouth to provide student mentoring, academic staff working with businesses, innovation support and the development of regional networks and collaborative relationships.  It is supported by £500,000 investment from the European Regional Development Fund Convergence Programme.

The portfolio of activities in this investment aim to make higher education institutions better able to respond to the needs of businesses, to encourage higher education staff to work with businesses and to provide businesses with up to date information on the strengths of higher and further education institutions in the region.

They also encourage joint working between higher education institutions and to foster within them a culture of enterprise amongst students and staff.

This investment, led by the University of Gloucestershire, is supported by £501,000 investment from the ERDF Convergence Programme and £167,000 from the South West Regional Development Agency.
