MARK Product Ltd

The £50k project involves the re-location of the company to larger premises at Rosemanowes Quarry Business Park, Penryn including fit out and equipment, software and hardware for new staff and tooling costs.  The project will safeguard 3 existing FTE posts and will lead to the creation of a further 3 FTE posts by 2015.

MARK is a furniture and lighting brand based in Penryn, Cornwall. The company was established in 2007 under the creative direction of interior designer Anna Hart and furniture designer John Miller and began as a spin-out from a project at University College Falmouth where John Miller was previously engaged as Director of the School of Design.  MARK manufactures entirely in the UK and mostly in Cornwall and their product range concentrates on design-led contract furniture.

The company has grown to its maximum level as a micro business and in order to create the conditions to enable them to grow towards a £1m turnover business in 5-6 years the applicant proposes to move to larger premises at Rosemanowes Quarry Business Park, Penryn.  This will involve relocation from their current split premises.  The new premises will deliver a step change in efficiency enabling good quality warehouse premises adjacent to office space where they can properly service their blue chip clients such as John Lewis, BBC, NPower and the
