Response to Redundancy (Truro and Penwith College)
The Response to Redundancy project provides a programme of support boosting people back into work or sustainable self-employment.
Jane Padgham
Individual advice and guidance sessions are available with College staff to help people identify areas of development. Free training in areas such as CV Writing, Interview Techniques, Computing and IT, Health and Safety, Management plus Higher Education short courses are on offer.
Businesses struggling with the current economic climate can also access marketing advice and external consultants to provide one-to-one in-company training for individuals if under notice of redundancy. All of these services are 100% supported through ESF Convergence.
There are three key target groups for this support:
- Individuals who are under notice of redundancy and their employer organisations;
- Individuals who are newly redundant;
- Individuals who are unemployed but would be ready for employment after receiving this package of skills development support
Successful outcomes would include completion of training, progression into work with further workplace training, an apprenticeship or Higher Education as appropriate, voluntary work or accredited learning achievements.
Response to Redundancy is one of three investments being made in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly as part of a national Response to Redundancy programme.
