Sector Networks Transition (Cornwall Enterprise)

The government's Business Support Simplification Programme (BSSP) has been implemented to make accessing business support more straight forward. ERDF Convergence investment in sector networks aims to help them, as providers of business support, to make the transition to the new business support environment.

Who?

The Sector Networks Transition investment will engage with sector-based networks which were identified in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly's economic development strategy, Strategy & Action, as being the most likely to bring forward economic growth, namely:

  • Advanced engineering
  • Creative
  • Information Communication Technology (ICT)
  • Marine
  • Food & Drink (technology-related)
  • Medical / Health / Biotech

What?

The Project Manager will work with the network groups to identify how the services they offer fit into the new BSSP structure, what the needs of their members/businesses in their sector are and how they can best move forward.

In addition, an independent survey will be commissioned to ascertain business' views on the value of existing networks and future needs.

The project will seek to ensure the integration of sector networks' information, diagnostics and brokerage activity with Business Link. It will also deliver specific business development interventions and facilitate peer to peer networking between businesses.
