Third Sector Programme Support and Participation (Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum)
This investment will provide support for voluntary and community sector organisations to help them participate fully in the Convergence Programme.
Convergence is aimed at strengthening our economy not just via the private sector but also via the voluntary and public sectors. By working in partnership and by being flexible about new ways of working the voluntary sector can offer even better opportunities to people and businesses.Carleen Kelemen, Director of the Convergence Partnership Office for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly

Cross cutting themes
Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum (CVSF) and each of the partners involved have published Equal Opportunities policies which commit them to adhere to both the letter and spirit of such relevant legislation as may be in force at any time. The CVSF and partners will also comply with gender mainstreaming as defined by The Council of Europe, namely ‘the (re) organisation, improvement, development and evaluation of policy processes, so that a gender equality perspective is incorporated in all policies at all levels and at all stages’. Specifically this TA programme will increase the equal opportunities principles of the whole Convergence programme by increasing knowledge of and access to activities within the main programme by community based groups. Many of these groups represent socially excluded groups of place or interest.
As far as is within their ability so to do, the partners will subscribe to the five principles of the UK Government’s ‘Guiding principles of sustainable development’, and, for example, it is already an integral part of their policies and activities to promote personal well being and social cohesion. The activities of the project will be subject to the CVSF published Environmental Policy. CVSF is also a key partner on Environment Kernow and has worked extensively on the Cornwall Sustainable Community Strategy issues paper, Living within Environmental Means. Best practice from this partnership is disseminated to members.
