How to get updates

You now have a choice of how you can receive updates from the Convergence Programme. If you’re on the move you can subscribe to our Twitter feed to get sent the latest updates, or subscribe to our Newsfeed to incorporate Convergence news into your daily news routine.

We are constantly looking at the best methods to make communicating with you easier. As new technology emerges or new standards are set we’ll update this page to incorporate them so please visit again.

Newsfeed (RSS feed)

A newsfeed allows the news to come to you as soon as it is announced without having to visit the website.

To start reading the Convergence Newsfeed you need to have a newsreader installed on your computer. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser (e.g. iGoogle), and some of which are downloadable applications (e.g. newsgator). Twitter

Twitter is a micro-blogging service that allows you to get updates (or ‘Tweets’) from Convergence as short 140 character messages. If you are a Twitter user you can subscribe to the Convergence Twitter feed to receive updates via the Twitter website, SMS, RSS, email or through specific applications such as Twitterfon, Twitterrific, Feedalizr or Facebook.
