Call for Project Delivery Organisation: Superfast Cornwall Business Support Project
15.03.12
Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly is one of the first areas in Europe to receive the roll out of Superfast Broadband. For a short time it will give businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly a real competitive edge in the global market place. It is therefore imperative that businesses seize the opportunity and capitalise on the advantage provided. As the business community starts to hear about the infrastructure roll out, one of the most common responses is “so what?” or “doesn’t that just mean I can send emails faster or view videos better?” The vision for this project is to answer the “so what?” question.
The Convergence Partnership is looking for a delivery organisation to run a business support project, working with businesses to help them grow by taking advantage of the new Superfast Broadband being rolled out across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. It is envisaged that a small number of key businesses will be provided with in-depth support to transform their product, service or business operations thus serving as an exemplar for other businesses to emulate or inspire them to answer their own ‘so what’ questions.
Applicants will be required to submit a business plan based on set criteria, the deadline for this is the 25 April.
To register an interest and receive the application form, please email convergencesupport@cornwall.gov.uk.
